QCRC Grant Awards 2019

Thank you all for attending, showing your rotary support, and doing some rotary networking at last weeks grant awards breakfast.  We had about 80 guests attend and I'm hearing that there are 4 to 5 "potential new members" possibly soon to be joining our club!  It was a great day for our club.  We awarded out over $46,000 to 51 Manchester area youth organizations!

Guest Speaker

Phil Croasdale & David Miller of Manchester Water Works were our guest speakers today.  We learned more about the Merrimack River Development water project, as well as how  the City and surrounding towns are serviced by the Manchester Water Works system.  It was all very interesting!

Andrea Kuhman

Joanie gave us an update on Andrea this morning.  Although Andrea needed to have a second surgery a few days after her initial surgery, we've learned that she is now doing well and recovering.  In June she will begin chemotherapy for a 5 month period.  Andrea did send a lovely thank you note to our club stating that she is "traveling towards a full recovery, and will do so with strength, courage and wonderful support from friends such as you".

In a full club discussion about Andrea's current situation, we will begin to take up a collection to help ease any financial burden that Andrea and her family may endure during her treatments.  For the next 3 weeks, beginning May 30th, we will "pass the hat" for Andrea.  In addition to this, our club has chosen to forfeit the big money raffle amount of $906 to be contributed to this fund, as well as the Board of Directors has approved $500.  If you'd like to write a check to contribute, please make the check payable to Queen City Rotary.   Thank you to those that have already contributed!

Make-A-Wish Breakfast

Table Captains for this year's breakfast event;  Adele Baker,  Mike Domingue, or  Monique Ruth.   If you would like to attend, please let one of the table captains know!
